Perched above the Columbia River in the penthouse of Kirkland Tower along the Vancouver, Washington waterfront, this condo renovation was envisioned as a sleek yet feminine retreat—equally suited for entertaining and unwinding. Purchased as the building neared completion, the unit offered a clean slate for thoughtful customization and elevated finishes.
In collaboration with JHL Design, the interiors were reimagined to balance warmth and drama. New herringbone wood flooring was installed throughout, grounding the space and softening moodier elements such as the striking Kenya Black Marble fireplace. The hearth was transformed into a sculptural focal point with a full-height marble slab wall, a matching bar countertop, and an integrated hearth bench. A custom brass fireplace surround is set seamlessly within the marble, while a bespoke hanging brass rod and glass shelving system completes the adjacent bar with understated elegance.
The primary suite closet was designed as a glamorous dressing room, featuring custom storage, integrated lighting, and tailored wall treatments to showcase the client’s wardrobe. Throughout the unit, additional built-in cabinetry and storage solutions were introduced to enhance organization, while new lighting and fixtures were carefully selected to complement the overall mood and material palette.
The result is a refined penthouse interior that feels warm, elegant, and intentional.
